More Family Time in Gulf Shores, AL.

Alisha and Jamie brought their kids out to Styx River Resort on a weekend.

The kids really enjoyed the pool.

Alisha with Maddie.

Maddie enjoying the pool but still sucking on her pacifier.

Styx River Resort has a very nice indoor and outdoor pools.

Maddie got cold, because she was not swimming, so she had to get out long before Noah got out.

The next weekend we celebrated Alisha's birthday. Noah's friend Aden, from preschool came over for the party. Noah and Aden in their super hero costumes.

After singing Happy Birthday for Alisha, she sang how old she was with a celebrating dance.

At 35 you start to come to life!

The next day Alisha and Jami came back out to Styx River Resort.

The kids played at the play ground at our campground.

With our membership to the Ocean Canyon Resorts, our daughters also get memberships free. Alisha came out to get her  membership card.

Just wanted to say, "Thanks Drew for  the yummy jalapeno pepper jelly. I just opened it up tonight. I put it over cream cheese with crackers. I hope you have some more of this stuff for me when we see you next time in Iowa.

New Years Eve Day and New Years Eve 2012 in Gulf Shores

Mallery likes Styx River Resort better than when we park in the girls driveway. Though it did take 2-3 days for her to get use to the constant shooting noise at the park. There is a shooting range down the road from the park. After 3 days she got use to it like we did. Our site in the park is farthest from the shooting range, so we don't hear it much unless we are outside.

On New Years Eve day we drove to Gulf Shores and walked on the beach.

The beach was the busiest we've seen since we have been here.

There was even people in the water.

It was a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid 70's. After our walk, we went to Tiffany and Blake's home. Blake's mom and dad, who are from Iowa, had prepared dinner for us all. It was yummy and we had a great time.

Alisha, Jamie, and the three kids all came too. This is another attempted to get a picture of Noah as he and his family were leaving to walk down the street to their home. Noah got this kid size four wheeler for Christmas. I told him I wanted a picture of him on it. Just as I snapped the picture he took off. That's my Noah, always on the move.
That evening, Joe and I went to Styx River Resort New Years Eve party in the club house. The party started at 7:00 for a social hour. Everyone was to bring finger foods. There was not an entrance fee. The band started at 8:00. We didn't arrive until 8:30. There was tons of food, but I didn't eat much because I saw a fly that was buzzing around on the food. We could not find a seat in the house. So we stood around  the food and watched the entertainment. We were back to our Nest at 11:00. I watch the new year come in on TV and Joe was a sleep at midnight. Below is a video of the band that played that night, the River Banks Band.
The next day, January 1, 2012, we walked to church.

This church is located in the park. There was only one other couple besides us at the service. There was no piano player, so when we sang during worship there was a total of  eight people singing. ( The minister, his wife, the minister's son in law, who lead the singing, and the son in law's wife, who sang a duet with her husband) It felt like a real southern church service.

Styx River Resort, Robertsdale, AL.

We moved to Styx River Resort the day after Christmas because Blake's mom and dad were coming from Iowa. We needed to get out of the driveway for their new company.

These are pictures I took a few days later. My camera's batteries were dead, and it started raining right after we got set up.

This is a Ocean Canyon Property we joined about two months ago.

There are 8 resorts in the southeast of the US that we can stay at for free for 21 days. Then we have to leave for 7 days, or we can go to one of the other 7 resorts for another 21 days.

This is the restaurant.

This is a view of the indoor and outdoor pool and club house from the outside.

The outdoor pool is located right next to the indoor pool. The outdoor pool is closed presently.

View of the inside of the clubhouse.

Indoor pool.

Jacuzzi also in pool area.

Another picture of the outside pool.

Behind the clubhouse and pool area is a play area with volley ball, shuffle board, basketball court, and play gym for children.

This is their sports bar.

We took a walk to the Styx River.

Beginning of the trail to the river.

During the summer there is tubing down the river. The resort takes you up the river and drops you off.

The water was pretty clear, but I don't think I would enjoy it.I would be worrying about snakes.

Back up in front of the sports bar and restaurant is a miniature golf area.

Another view of restaurant.

We are parked a row away from the clubhouse.

There are cabins family members can rent out also if they wanted.

Space between RV is about average.

We took B9. I do like that this park is on a hillside. When it rained, we were not sitting in a pool of water the next day. The only disadvantage is the resort is 50 minutes away from the girls and the coast. The membership also give us access to Resorts of Distinction for free, and North America Camping Club, and Coast to Coast for rates at $10 to $20 a night. We are hoping that within two year, we will break even with the cost of the membership. Then we will be really saving money.

Sending Hayleah North To Her Dad's

After or before Christmas we always send Hayleah off to her dad's in Minnesota for a week.

She still flies Unaccompanied Minor. ( The airline watches over them until they arrive to the other parent).  They travel this way until 16 years old.

My Nana girl is growing up fast.

I followed Maddie around the airport part of the time for Alisha.

I need to remember to turn the camera around when I take movies.
